LCL CARGO INFRASTRUCTURE LEVY

LCL CARGO INFRASTRUCTURE LEVY

Over recent years there has been many changes to the processes related to the handling of import and export ocean freight cargo.  Through out the freight supply chain, this has impacted our CFS depots considerably.

A CFS (Container Freight Station) depot is a licensed Customs and Quarantine facility that is engaged to facilitate the bonded unpacking of FAK / LCL shipments along with conducting a variety of inspections for both Australian Customs and Quarantine departments.

CFS depots have recently implemented an Infrastructure Levy as a result of escalating costs for compliance, along with higher wages, security, energy and property maintenance.

The charge will be levied to parties contracting CFS depot services such as Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders and Transport companies.

The levy differs from depot to depot, varying from
AUD 10.00 to AUD 12.50 per cbm / minimum 1 cbm

You will see the Infrastructure Levy issued as a separate line on your freight invoice for all import and export LCL shipments, effective immediately.

You are welcome to contact our office should you require any further information.
