Predicting the Unpredictable

Even the best laid plans can go awry when a shipment has to cross oceans, continents and pass through different cultures.

There are all kinds of challenges in moving goods around the world. There are no modes of transport that are not susceptible to unexpected events, volcanic ash, strikes, civil unrest, terrorist attacks, even just heavy traffic on the highways.

Ocean freight transit times can be several weeks and schedules can change, due to unforeseen circumstances like severe weather & mechanical breakdowns, trans shipment delays and offloading. Airfreight shipments can be held up for days if some small details are overlooked.

At Precision we pay attention to all the particulars, door to door, to anticipate and avoid problems in advance of shipment. By regularly monitoring your individual shipments can we keep you informed of any critical changes, so you can relax in the knowledge that we have it in hand.

With our expertise in managing your international freight movements, you can remain confident of fulfilling your customer service promises.

Landed Costing Reports

Having the landed cost reported to you can boost your bottom line. It is essential in global trade and you can put it to use to increase your profits.

A landed cost is the total price of a product once it has arrived at your buyer’s door. The landed cost includes the original price of the product, all transportation fees (both inland and air/ocean freight), customs, duties, taxes, insurance, currency conversion, crating, handling and payment fees.

How We calculate a Landed Price

We can prepare for you a spreadsheet, showing all the familiar components of an ordinary domestic invoice. This is a description of the product, an itemised listing of charges and sales terms including, selling price, inland transport, air/ocean transport, duty, currency adjustment factor (CAF) and documentation, all to give you a TOTAL LANDED PRICE.

When it comes to global trade, controlling costs, ensuring timely deliveries and getting paid are serious issues that every international business executive must face. Landed cost is a significant component of all of these issues. That’s why our ability to help you in establishing a landed cost model for overseas buyers is not just important, it is essential.
